@cathnun27 I agree! I read an article on VR in classrooms and part of it specified how VR is especially useful in science classrooms. Being able to be immersed inside different molecular structures, etc.. helps them visualise complex topics!
@vanessangraham I agree, VR in classrooms is a wonderful concept and is a beneficial and positive use of technology, but it does not necessarily need to be readily available in all classrooms. Not all classes would be suitable for that type of technology.
Virtual Reality in classrooms allows students to have a more "hands-on" approach in their learning experiences. They can be immersed in worlds they may not be able to reach in the real world, making the content especially memorable. #EDU214
One of the biggest takeaways from the syntax module is that sometimes less is more. The use of simple sentences can help get one's point across in a more clear and concise manner. #eng211o1fa23
@JillianMeunsc3 It's so cool when things we learn in school appear in our daily lives! It's also shocking to see how many people think that language isn't CONSTANTLY evolving... 😅 Language is ever-changing!
The slang terms highlighted in the NYT article such as "Creep, Rando, and Sketch" are typically found in my everyday vernacular. It sort of proves their findings that women tend to use these terms more often. #eng211o1fa23
@Mmccue265684 Agreed! A lot of these language myths are rooted in negative stereotypes about different regions/groups of people so it is nice to see them debunked and properly corrected.
@HudsonIndya Agreed! There should be no debate as to who has a "better" or more "pleasant" dialect. They are all unique, and tailored to their specific culture, and should be respected as such.
Being bilingual or multilingual seems like such amazing skill to have. It opens up so many more opportunities to converse with others and learn about different cultures. #eng211o1fa23
It's hard to believe that some people hold the idea that only knowing one language makes you more intelligent than those who are bilingual...It doesn't make any sense to me. #eng211o1fa23
I actually really like doing the annotated bibliography. It feels like an extra safety measure to ensure my sources fit the topic and helps me put a lot more thought into what I'm writing about. #eng211o1fa23
I was intimidated about the annotated bibliography at first, but then as I watched the video and read the assigned readings I realized that I have been doing these for other classes and just never knew what they were called.🤦♀️#eng211o1fa23
@Justinhei33 Agreed! Especially after reading through myth #5, I have an even greater respect for anyone who has learned English as their second language.
