Sophie Ellis-Bextor to the Independent on obsessive transphobes:
“These people make trans people their whole personality and spend their entire day checking their socials and being angry, whereas trans people themselves just want to be under the radar and live their lives.”
The BMA respects trans patients' dignity, autonomy, and human rights and continues to believe that trans doctors, NHS workers and patients deserve dignity, safety, and equitable access to healthcare.
Any abuse directed towards BMA members or staff is unacceptable and has no place in the serious consideration of these complex issues.
“…But none of that matters to those who advocate against my existence. No cause does, besides the one that eliminates me from public life”

Rowling’s gender-critical remarks with compassion, urging society to “let people be.” His words offer a timely reminder of the need for dignity and humanity in the ongoing fight for trans rights.
