历史影像：2015年4月25日，尼泊尔廓尔喀8.1级大地震，吉隆口岸当时的情景。

这次地震中，尼泊尔一侧边检、海关等设施被夷为平地。吉隆镇和聂拉木县向南水平移动约60厘米，聂拉木县垂直下降约10厘米。地震造成山体大面积松动，为后来多年泥石流、滑坡高发，埋下隐患。

2015年10月13日，吉隆口岸恢复开放。而附近通往尼泊尔的另一个口岸——樟��口岸，因损毁更严重而长期无法全面恢复，吉隆口岸此后承担了中尼陆路贸易的主要通道功能。

दुनिया को उत्तरी और दक्षिणी गोलार्ध में बाँटने वाली भूमध्य रेखा यानी Equator पर एक साथ दोनों गोलार्धों पर खड़ा होना अपने आप में बेहद सुखद और रोमांचक अनुभव रहा।
लेकिन उससे भी ज़्यादा विस्मित कर देने वाला अनुभव था यहाँ ���िखाया गया Coriolis Effect। Equator के पास तीन बर्तन रखे थे- एक Northern Hemisphere में, एक Southern Hemisphere में और एक बिल्कुल Equator पर।
पानी डालने पर दोनों गोलार्धों में पानी के घूमने की दिशा अलग दिखाई गई, जबकि Equator पर पानी बिना किसी दिशा में घूमे सीधे नीचे चला गया।

वैज्ञानिक रूप से ऐसे छोटे बर्तन का प्रयोग Coriolis Effect का निर्णायक प्रमाण कहना सही नहीं होगा, इसलिए मैंने पूछ भी लिया कि कोई ट्रिक तो नहीं है , लेकिन इसे अपनी आँखों के सामने देखना बेहद दिलचस्प अनुभव था।

उत्तरी और दक्षिणी गोलार्ध पर एक साथ कदम रखना.. अपने आप में एक यादगार एहसास है। 🇺🇬
