I don't really use Twitter anymore as it's a cesspit of vile and rancid content, but I had to come online to say I SAW THE WOODEN TIE SHED and all is good for another year.
@Jonesyblog I went to the shops today and it took 14 minutes and I feel betrayed by this local council that I’ve been imprisoned in my community. Shocked I tell you SHOCKED. 15 minute nightmare.
Got all the fruit and veg I needed today in this photo I took today in Bath today. Brexit clearly hasn’t hit Bath. Probably the ring of steel keeping us safe 👍
@Robotroniks Walked past both John Menzies AND Woolworths today and was shocked at how empty they looked compared with 20 years ago. SHOCKED I TELL YOU.
20 years ago? Get real and get in the modern ages. A city centre high street can’t be compared like for like with that long ago. The world has changed.
@Jonesyblog The words of a Johnny-come-lately who has ripped up from London and has no idea how packed this road would have been with shoppers and tourists on the same day 20 years ago.
Comments on this are great. Bath IS proper busy today. Milsom Street has never been crazy busy anyway since Southgate was built, so this number of people is good. Footfall to Bath City Centre is up year on year. Not exactly “ruined” is it.
But opinions are just that. Anger is at the forefront of everything now. Whether that’s a Twitter rant about roadworks or council bollocks, or road rage cos some prick cut you up. Anger breeds anger and oh boy, Bath is angry.
I feel as though I need to make a comeback, based on the moaning going on about Bath on Twitter recently. Some very unhappy people, although as with everything on Twitter, maybe it’s just a small group of very vocal people. So let’s cover some topics:
The key thing is everyone is miserable now. The whole world is miserable. Politics has destroyed any happiness. Social media allows everyone to voice their opinion, and almost all of them are negative.
Exactly this. Until a sustainable, viable option comes along, everyone just defaults to a car. I often do too. Buses are shite. Trains non existent. Bath is full of hills. No out of town shops to move people from the centre.
