Tharp’s morning in “The Creative Habit” always stuck with me. For her, the day started not at her alarm at 5:30AM, or when she got dressed, but when she hailed a cab to her gym. That was her “point of no return”.

Me: Like, you show up to school and they’re like “surprise! No school today!” And you go on a field trip or they turn the parking lot into a fair.

I’ve never seen it and go “is that … Ryan Gosling on the bus?”
Andy: “yeah, and he was a COMPLETE liability at corner.”

I’ll never forget my first musical. My oldest sister took me to the touring cast of Cats, when I was in elementary school. Taking class onstage as a professional, years later, I used to reverently look at my exact seat.
