Duran should not start games.
He is the perfect supersub. High energy, physical, quick. A nightmare for tired defenders.
Start him then he has to conserve energy which limits him. Playing at that intensity isn't possible for 90.
Unleashing him for half an hour is perfect.

What's not a good model is getting older players on high wages. It's no coincidence that those are the players we can't shift. By 2026 none of them will be here and things become easier.

No well run club has three competing players for one position, and a club struggling with PSR and SCC certainly shouldn't.

Feel like at the end of every summer window I feel we needed more. Felt that way last summer and we ended up qualifying for the CL. So I feel fine.
Also an understanding of the constraints we face. There's some solace in knowing we couldn't get a deal done rather than wouldn't.

@S1ngh32 When the window opened I thought we can upgrade both our full backs and improve depth.
I think the squad looks a lot deeper than last season, and we brought in Maatsen. Tielemans as Doug's successor and Onana a lovely bonus.
A starting RB would have been the cherry on top.

@Dpn76 They will be when they turn 21. Anyone who is U21 and has been at the club for two years is B list eligible so won't take up a squad space.

Presuming Olsen, Hause and Dendoncker don't get registered for CL, Barrenechea's exit means we have 1 spare spot. 20 of 21 non club trained spots have been filled.

Duran for now takes up a spot but will be B list eligible in January.

Post 21 is when he would be classified as club trained.

We have the max 21 non club trained players.
2 club trained players in JJ and Philogene.
Then any U21 who has been at the academy for 2 plus years are eligible for the B list eg Bogarde and Zych.
Want Geertruida then someone needs to go.

@Harriso35774706 @espenstrand Duran can not Kosta yet. Duran can cos in Jan he'll of been here for 2 seasons and will be U21. So for now he and Kosta make up the 21 and in January Duran moves to the B list. As of right now though we have no open spots. 1 in 1 out.

@espenstrand @Harriso35774706 Once Iling-Jr leaves the team is maxed out for CL at 21 non club trained presuming Olsen and Dendoncker aren't registered.
Kosta and Duran count towards the squad cos they aren't club trained. Duran can join the B list in Jan to create a spot.

UEFA's is different though. For example it's only a 2 year cycle for instance and allowable losses are lower.
There's also the squad cost rules.
All estimates though. Takeaway for me was we'll pay fines.
