🇵🇰 Al Jazeera covered a boycotted Kashmir election, then its site went dark in Pakistan

Al Jazeera English stopped loading across Pakistan today. No word from the government on why.

The timing says plenty. It dropped a day after the Information Ministry slammed the network's election coverage as "yellow journalism" from "external actors."

Kamal Hyder reported from Muzaffarabad on voting day, showing streets that were mostly empty. A boycott, people done with the whole thing. Locals say as many as 80 have been killed in unrest since June.

Pakistan also just told foreign reporters they need permission to work outside Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad, which happens to cover Kashmir.

Block the site, fence off the press, blame outsiders. That's just narrative control.

All the news circulating on social media that a former Army Chief met Imran Khan in Adiala Jail are fake.

We have checked with Barrister Gohar and he has also confirmed that this is totally fake!

It is disinformation especially spread to distract from the fact that Imran Khan is being tortured through total isolation.

A distraction from the fact that:

1) He is not allowed proper treatment for his eye in a proper hospital.

2) He has not been allowed to speak to his sons.

3) He has not been allowed books for the past 6 months.

4) He has no television

5) He has not been allowed contact with anyone from the outside world in the past 6 months, except two visits by his lawyer on the orders of the court.

There is a full bench court order that allows for at least 18 people to visit him every week. 6 family members and 6 lawyers on Tuesdays, and 6 party members on Thursdays.

All above are Imran Khan’s lawful rights, under Pakistan’s laws and the International laws.

Pakistan Army has 2 full Generals, 29 Lt Generals & 194 Maj Generals.
Even @OfficialDGISPR - once a Colonel’s job is now a Major General. They deploy Generals just to run X.
Have you ever calculated how much one soldier from General down to Major actually costs the Pakistani taxpayer?

Free bungalows, free electricity, gas, water. Free C-130 flights across the country. Staff cars. Personal servants. Free education in top schools & universities (@ThisIsNUST, @pmdcofficial etc). Lifetime free healthcare for entire families in military hospitals. Tax-free plots, villas, shops & acres of land. Post-retirement govt jobs.

On top of that, in the name of “welfare for retired soldiers & martyrs”, they run a massive empire @FaujiF_Official : banks, insurance companies, cement factories, fertilizer plants, steel mills, sugar & textile mills, dairy farms, petrol pumps, marriage halls… even housing societies built on prime land given in the name of ‘shaheeds’. A business started in 1953 with just $1.8 million in charity is now worth $20 billions, while ordinary businesses collapse and the economy dies.
Losses? Covered by public budget. Licenses & permits? Handed over without a single question.

The rest of the world builds states for the welfare of citizens. In Pakistan, the state exists only for the welfare of the military. For 70 years, the Army has snatched food from the mouths of poor Pakistanis to fill its own belly, while proudly claiming it is the reason you can sleep peacefully at night.

If the full bill ever comes out in front of the nation… politicians will start looking like angels.
