To those of you who are upset at what Trump is (apparently) agreeing to with Iran, what do you want him to do? Trump just hit Iran as hard as any U.S. president ever has over the last fifty years. In fact, he hit it harder than the six presidents before him combined. But the regime is still in power and still not giving us anything. So what's your plan?

If Trump extends the blockade, the global and U.S. economies will both continue to weaken and there is still no guarantee, nor even the likelihood, that an extension will get any positive results. All you will have done is extend the status quo of economic pain, probably to the point of contraction, for no tangible purpose.

On the other hand, if Trump goes to war to overthrow the regime, he needs public support, congressional authorization, and allied help in the region - all three of which he is highly unlikely to get without a massive mobilization and perhaps not even then. Would you support him in achieving those aims? Because that would require you to become permanent lobbyists on behalf of the Trump administration over the next several months. I highly doubt many of you have it in you, since I know most have supported his administration even less than I have.

I warned you when this war started that your lack of preparation showed you were hoping for a fortuitous outcome that was out of our control. And that's exactly what you got.
