In 2013 during the Mahakumbh at Prayagraj, there was a stampede at a railway station due to a change in platform of a train where 13 people had died. The fault was of the railways but the media had sought accountability from the then UP chief minister and the UP government. The massive tragedy today that has resulted in dozens of lives being lost has not resulted in any accountability seeking from Adityanath or his government. On the contrary Noida anchors were breathlessly awaiting the pushp varsha in the morning while pretending nothing had happened. This is the difference between 2013 and 2025.
