Introduced another class to the game of Werewolf as the last day party treat (they earned the reward in the reading competition)
Only thing I’ve ever found where EVERY pupil yells”YES” when I ask if they want another round. 😂
@MrsH_Chemistry @MsWalkerBiology Not a book but if you look up Pete Wharmby ( @commaficionado )
That’s a great place to start. He is autistic and has been a secondary teacher for a long time. He’s got a great channel on YouTube.
In a strange twist of fate, Dungeons and Dragons is now so popular that I can’t run sessions for all the students who want to play! Feels great that this fantastic hobby is finally picking up, but sad that I can’t run a hundreds sessions!
Can’t wait to start the adventures!
My job is fantastic. How many other jobs do you get given beautiful portraits of yourself? Very much captures my essence and my love for Untitled Goose Game. 😄
Just to give a sense of life right now- this bread has been in the toaster -untoasted- for two days now. I don’t know which of us put it in, or why it hasn’t been toasted, and I don’t have time or energy to try and figure that out. #nearlythere#sleepallsummer
Spent last night taking notes on a new text to teach at Nat 5. Is creating new schemes of work my favourite part of the job? 🤔maybe, but I do like the bits where the young people actually learn too 😂 they just mess up my neat plans so much!
"I don’t know how she does it. If it were me I’d just lay in bed and cry all day.”
This was said in front of me today (about me, but not to me) regarding my disability.
The tragedy of disability is not that disabled people exist, but that our existence is seen as a tragedy.
Media unit update- My S2s have decided that Some Like it Hot is ‘equally good’ as White Chicks. I didn’t expect the positivity, but as always my pupils have the capacity to appreciate more complex texts and they have loved finally seeing Marilyn moving and talking 😂❤️
Put together a new work outfit and got lots of compliments- one pupil said ‘Marilyn Monroe vibes’ ❤️ another said ‘you’re actually dressed as a teacher today’ 💔
I love teaching! 😂 #staygrounded
Best of luck to all the teachers and pupils back in school today, especially those in secondaries staring down the barrel of exams that aren't exams but look and feel just like exams because they are exams even if the SNP and SQA want to pretend they're not exams.
