This is why I'll always fight for Drama; this is why it deserves a place on the National Curriculum in its own right; why all students should have equal access; why it has value and meaning in its theoretical & practical application 🩶🎭 #dramamatters
Emotional literacy is essential to effective leadership.
But this is difficult to develop when your only experience of leadership is within cultures of power, compliance and control.
Teaching Tip of the Week #5
Do dual-coding.
Use both the visual and auditory processing systems in students' working memory.
You do not need to be an artist to represent information visually - it is more about organising information in space than drawing fancy caricatures.
Postcards on their way home to celebrate the amazing work of some of our @WalesEnglish Y7 students. Keep your eyes peeled to see if you are one of the lucky ones!

Drama for empathy.
Empathy is at the heart of acting; an actor’s job is to empathize and understand the character they are playing. Teaching students to put themselves in someone else’s shoes can help them, and others, for life.
We're proud to be supporting #SeizeTheDay24. Join us and help to shine a light on the importance of children and young people's access to and participation in Drama and Theatre. 🎭 We look forward to hearing about how you are marking the week! @DTEAlliance
So, after two years of hard work, I finally sat my EPA last month for L5 Education Management & Leadership qualification and can say I was awarded a Distinction #CMI#WomenEd#HardWorkPaysOff#proud

Here's a clip from our pod on May 3rd where @campbellclaret + @RoryStewartUK discussed the power of oracy and why we need to start teaching it:

@Helsbelsmanc@linholden @geographyrebel @adamboxer1@JamesTheo@miss_mcinerney@Telegraph As someone who came from the private sector into teaching, this is not true, in my experience. I worked 9-5. I went to work for those hours, did my job, and then went home. No extras, no late nights, no meetings, no going over and above. And that was as the equivalent to a HoD.
@parsons391@Gwenelope From what we've been told, there are very strict laws over what can and can't be asked of non-striking staff. Covering lessons is one of those things. Sorry your sch/Head isn't supportive. Glad to say our sch have been brill. Also NASUWT.
