Fantastic production from Theatre of Debate for our year 10s at @dixonsaa yesterday! Thank you all so much. It was so extremely interesting for students to learn about a hugely important part of British & Indian history, & the Queens of Mysore who helped to eradicate smallpox.
I marked for AQA Language Paper 2 this year ๐ Hereโs some takeaways I took that Iโll be sharing with the English dept, so why not share with you all ๐ชก๐งต
A fantastic English teacher role has come up at @dixonsaa
Please share with anyone you think may be interested! Weโve a fully planned curriculum with loads of diversity & a super passionate & lovely bunch of people on the team!

โฆschools continue to be squeezed, stretched and shafted like this by the govt., exam results will be affected for many more years to come, and it will, of course, be the students at schools in the most deprived areas who will be affected most.
Stop gaslighting us, Gill.
Disappointing to see this from the Department for Education.
The govt agreed to fund just 0.5% of this pay rise, leaving schools to find an extra 4%. Agreeing to this would be throwing our schools under a bus.
Yes I am worried about 2 more strikes so close to exams, but ifโฆ
The National Education Union has announced its members will strike on Thursday 27 April and Tuesday 2 May.
This is after the union rejected a ยฃ1,000 payment on top of this year's pay rise, a commitment to reduce workload, and a pay increase of 4.5% for next year.

An absolute pleasure.
It was great to share my journey and poetry with Yr11. Their reactions were priceless and hope to hear their poetry one day too.
What a fab end to #WestYorksPoetry Week. @Literacy_Trust@TracyBrabin
A huge thank you to all staff who dressed up as their favourite literary characters today. Sorry I didnโt get photos of everyone but the students absolutely loved it. We had loads of entries to the naming challenge and will announce our 2 winners tomorrow ๐ #WorldBookDay2023
He ALWAYS deserved this because heโs ALWAYS been amazing. The work he had to put in to getting this is insane! Itโs just fantastic to see his worth finally fully realised by such a prestigious institution. And theyโre absolutely VERY lucky he persisted.
I am so, SO proud of you @DanialHussain_ ! In the actual Times no less! I know you wouldโve persevered anyhow because that determination was already inside you, but Iโm obviously crying a bit at the fact you still remember/value those chats ๐ฅฒ
Donโt forget me when youโre PM ๐
Danial had these extra hurdles to leap over and there is something unfair about that still. That he has succeeded beyond most peopleโs wildest dreams - becoming president of Oxford SU I mean WOW!! - is testament to him & his astonishing resilience only ๐ซ @DanialHussain_
๐๐ป๐๐ป Oxford is lucky to have this absolute gem ๐
To see an amazing ex-student thriving (& speaking out about social justice using their fantastic (& hugely deserved) new platform โค๏ธโ๐ป) is pretty much what I live for ๐ซ
Social mobility is about unlocking talent. And that benefits Oxford just as much than the individuals involved. Great to share my journey in @thetimes

@DanialHussain_ Danial! I am so delighted that your worth is finally being seen fully! Itโs made my day/half term/life to see you thriving like this! Bless you for mentioning me in your article. You wouldโve done this regardless but Iโm glad I could help a little ๐
Huge congrats ๐๐ป
