A fun-filled Friday! We started off the morning exploring our new math tool kits and then spent some time this afternoon working together on a memory/match game. We finished up the day with our first visit to the library with @TraciMattis!
Today we tried out new seating options around the room as we practiced independent work time. We’ve got to build the stamina so we can begin one-on-one placement assessments!
We also practiced our whisper voices (still a work in progress 😉) during our phonics/short I lesson.
Come party on the playground with music, food, and fun next Thursday, Sept. 8th from 5-7:30.
We'll have hot dogs, chips, water, and of course, Kona Ice. Each student will get a free Kona Ice (check in at the volunteer table to get your ticket)!
@LSR7HILLITS@KaleighBearce I like the idea of it being mounted if it can still slide up and down! It would make for more room in our gathering space and if it didn’t have to be so far off the wall it wouldn’t block things that are to the side of it! Maybe we’ll get an option sometime 🤞🏼
We made it through the first (almost) full week! We’ve built community without our classroom, made new friends, and showed off to the new kindergarteners around the building! We wrapped up the week with a little indoor recess practice and learning from Mystery Doug!
Today was full of hands-on learning! After listening to a story about teamwork & using your manners, we practiced our skills while putting together puzzles! Next we matched letters in alphabet arcs &some even challenged themselves to complete a blank arc! Thanks @lsedfoundation!
Together we are a team! Day 2 was full of community building, routine learning, and a little dancing! We also did a baseline number writing activity. I can’t wait to see the progress they make this year!
Backpack Blowout is tonight from 6-8pm at Lee's Summit Community Church! They have over 800 backpacks to hand out! Free haircuts, hot dogs and bounce houses too!
It’s August 1st which means it’s time for “Tell me you’re a teacher who went overboard finding deals to redo your classroom this summer” without telling me you’re a teacher who went overboard. 😂🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
