@TheMaterialGeek @HoDandHeart Absolutely! Every time someone throws out something GIRFEC-related I throw back the concept of GIRFET (Teacher) back at them! Schools need to do more to get it right for us too - and that shouldn’t be such a controversial thing to say!
Quality of life ≥ Quality of work.
@MissClarkeY2 @TPositiveTC This is a really lovely idea, Lucy! I am trying to be much more positive this year too and I’m *really* trying to make sure I don’t absorb other people’s negativity as well. I’m in my 4th week of term and so far so good! I hope your new term gets off to a flying start as well!❤️
@GavinWoroniuk@NickBurton75 @ScotiaMan51 @JonathanPieNews Plenty of criticism of his handling of the situation but not as much criticism of the grown men & women who should be able to conduct themselves without needing handled. I understood the role of the Speaker was to ensure balance & equity during debates, not behaviour management.
Suggestion to reframe ‘Parents’ Evening’ 🧵 1/3 Two and a half years ago my sister passed away very unexpectedly.Her two young children, 10 and 1 at the time, came to live with me and my children. Although unbearably hard at times, we muddle through as best we can
What's the problem, you might say? Isn't this just high expectations and isn't that good thing? The problems is that these are expectations based on competition. Everyone cannot win, and we need to work so that the winning isn't the only worthwhile outcome of an education. 11/
@pinpoint77 @Mr_AlmondED I completely agree! The right school is the school with supportive, empowering leadership; the school where the focus is building each other up, not knocking each other down!
Honest tweet now. This account is run by frontline NHS staff. There’s just 3 of us. We have tried our best to get out what is happening on the ground. But we are completely exhausted. If you support what we are doing pls will you follow & RT this to your followers? Thank you 🙏🏻
@MrAllington@EmmaGallagher17@MrB_abc I honestly don't know.
I know sweets aren't everyone's first choice, but I also know I'd be gutted if someone kicked off at me for rewarding my pupils for reaching the end of term.
If I didn't approve of a gift I'd have a chat quietly at home, rather than wrecking someone's day.
@MrAllington@EmmaGallagher17@MrB_abc I know how strong r'ships are with Form classes 15 mins/day at registration and, possibly, a lesson per week, so all day every day will undoubtedly be stronger.
There will never be any expectation to give gifts, but I think it's important to receive in the spirit they're given.
