Hereβs to new beginnings! π My next journey awaits me in San Francisco, CA as a special education teacher!!!! Thank you to everyone who has helped me follow my dreams β¨π
βK takes I and E, C takes the other 3!β Today Kindergarten practiced their c and k words by doing a write the room activity! They have to use the C/K rule to help them find the correct beginning letter! π€
Find subtraction tough? Play Get Off My Boat! I would select students to stand in my boat, for example 5. Then I would kick off a number of students (3) and then ask how many friends were left in the boat (2)! The students LOVED this and really understood it! π€
Special thanks to the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union for allowing our Kindergarteners to come and learn with our friends, The Berenstein Bears! π»π°
During todayβs math lesson we played a game where we had to find the sum of the addition problem and then throw the ball into the correct bucket! π€
Today in one of our centers, my students had to use the tongs to pick up the carrot, solve the addition problem and then feed the bunny with the correct number! It not only focused on addition skills but also their fine motor skills! Having fun while learning is the best way!π°π₯
Happy Autism Awareness month to the students who have forever changed my life and have left an indescribable impact on this world π I am so lucky that I get to teach and learn from you every single day! #AutismAwarenessMonth
We say relationships are key in education, but what do we mean by relationship? Its so much more than loving or having empathy for our students. we also need:
* trust
* Respect
* structure/boundaries
* encouragement
* authenticity
* humor
What else is key?
I couldnβt think of a more perfect way to end my time here at Devereux than by creating this bulletin board. My students have grown so much and I couldnβt be more proud of them! βΊοΈ
