Rockstar 5th graders right here! After learning all about the Jamestown Colony, we tied it together with a Jamestown-themed Escape Room. We have some creative thinkers in Room 127!
Today, we read a biography about the man who deciphered the Egyptian Hieroglyphs. We began with trying to crack our own codes. We discussed how we felt, read the book, and then related our own feelings to how Jean-Francois felt when he was trying to crack this unknown language.
Daily Learning Tip: Classroom libraries should resemble a library or a bookstore where books are categorized by author, by topic, by genre. We want the readers not to see themselves as a level, but as people who are choosing books that interest them.

Santaβs workshop has been very busy the past few days! All wrapped and ready to be dropped off for my 22 kiddos. Of course, I also had to add in some winter-themed smelly stickers for them β€οΈ
@Ms_GreeneWrites I had a very similar conversation with my kiddos! π
Every few seconds: Miss Cziraky, look how white it is! (as they turn their whole computer towards the window). The amount of cheers when I told them to go play outside for 15 minutes π€·πΌββοΈ
Room 15 wrapped up our personal narratives yesterday! What a fun way to celebrate. We voice recorded ourselves reading our stories on Padlet and then had the chance to listen to other stories. These 3rd graders knocked it out of the park!
