I'm a search controller & have previously held the posts of Tresurer, Secretary & Support Group Co-ordinator. My paid role is as a high school teacher. I've recently been elected as the Secretary for Mid Pennine Search and Rescue Organisation which Bolton MRT is a member of.
Today marks the start of Voluntering Week, so this is the start of a series of meet the team profiles.
I'm Diane. I have been a member of Bolton MRT for over 27 years. I initially joined to complete the volunteering section of my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.
North West Ambulance Service contacted us at 08:05 on Monday requesting help with a person fallen near Darwen Tower. 18 team members responded, locating and treating the casualty before conveying to a waiting ambulance. Thanks to Lancashire Constabulary for help on this incident
As team members continued with search, 2 members met with the awaiting ambulance crew and helped gain access to the casualty.
With help from friends and family, a stretcher was used to transport the casualty a short distance to the awaiting ambulance.
V busy bank holiday weekend!
On Sunday: 13 of the team cleaning base, doing maintenance, undertaking safety tests on equipment.
5 of the Water Team were at High Rid reservoir for water skills and powerboat training with our Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.

At 11:26 today, the team was contacted by the North West Ambulance Service to assist with a casualty having serious breathing difficulties in Rivington Terraced Gardens.
Eleven team members were involved for an hour and very quickly got the casualty into the awaiting ambulance
