Being a teacher is just crossing your fingers that your students donโt see you out and about in your ripped sweatpants and running into them every time.
I really enjoyed the blooket presentation by @bellmk39 & @MissDeGroot . During my placement I relied on Kahoot as it was all I knew before #ICT362. It was my FS who recommended #Blooket to me. This presentation educated me on the app and I plan to implement it into the future !
Great presentation by @kendramlucy and @MrDancelED in class this week! Iโve been using TikTok for years but have never considered its use in a Phys Ed class. It was great to see how many curricular outcomes can actually be assessed with this app! #ICT362
Today @MrDancelED and I did our ICT presentation, Utilizing Tik Tok in Education! We designed a lesson idea using SAMR and the LwICT model. We also created video examples and did a class demonstration. #ICT362
I love starting class with a mindfulness activity! On @YouTube, you can find many videos that promote mindfulness and mental health for all ages. At the beginning of class, I pick a short video and allow my students to meditate, if they choose, before we start our lesson #ICT362
@canva is my favourite online tool to use for graphic design. I use it to create presentations, posters, logos, teaching resources, and fun social media posts! It is free and easy to use and includes a wide variety of stickers and cute templates #ICT362
This week in ICT, we discussed the importance of teaching coding to students and the problem solving skills that can be gained from it. Do you think computer science should be taught in schools? Or learned at home? #ICT362
PhET provides students with interactive simulations for math and science! Students are able to engage and explore through an intuitive and entertaining environment to discover a multitude of scientific phenomena. #ICT362
A few words every student needs to hear!
"I love having you in my class."
"It was hard for me, too."
"You got this! I believe in you."
"Wow, you worked so hard at..."
"Oops, I made a mistake."
"Need to talk?"
"You matter."

Educating today's youth is about much more than curricular outcomes. Among essential extra-curricular topics is social and emotional learning. SEL promotes prosocial behaviours, creates a safe environment, and improves academic achievement! #ICT362
Lumio provides quick and easy check-in activities to bring emotional literacy to the classroom! Activities like this will help me to know how my students are feeling and show them that I care about those feelings. #ICT362@LumioSocial
Today in #ICT362 we discussed TikTok and how it can be used as a tool for education! I think itโs a great platform to use to stay connected with your students and share relevant information in a fun way.
Establish a self-care routine and ensure youโre making time for yourself! It is also a good idea to take a moment each day to practice mindfulness or seek professional help if you need it. #ICT362#mbedchat
