Life update: I was accepted into Rowan University’s M.A. in Reading Education program. I will still be teaching at Birches while taking classes at Rowan. I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity to grow as a teacher! @BirchesElem@RowanUniversity
We celebrated my mom’s last chemo treatment on Monday! Then her school district celebrated her today. She continues to fight her own battle while also working to make the schools a better place for the staff and kids. She is amazing and so is her support team at @franklintwpsch
Had the opportunity to check out Frozen Jr today @BirchesElem - you definitely will not want to “Let it Go” by not seeing this production! Tonight 7p! @MrsDsMusicClass @WTDirectorElEd
The link to vote for Duffield’s Scarecrow competition is live! If you liked our scarecrow, all you have to do is put your name, check off Harry Styles, and submit!

Our class voted and decided to make Harry Styles for Duffield’s Scarecrow competition (the theme was music performers through the years). We had so much fun putting him together and can’t wait to see him at the farm! @BirchesElem@DuffieldsFarm@Harry_Styles
Took a few personal days to visit Iceland over the past few days! I cannot stress enough how important it is for teachers to take any opportunity to take breaks and do what makes you happy. You will always be better for others, when you take care of your own well-being.
One of the community building activities we did was the common index card activity. The team members had to find things they all had in common to earn an index card, then they would use their index cards to build a tower. Great activity to find similarities and practice teamwork!
Starting off Year 3 with a new coteacher and a new idea! The class did an expectation chart instead of a rule chart. We added ideas for expectations of teachers, expectations of students, and expectations of the class. We all agreed on a few to formalize and hang up.
As the school year is approaching, I thought about some things that would help the students feel more comfortable and engaged! I also included some books I learned about in my multicultural literacy courses. Any help is appreciated 😁

That’s a wrap for year 2! I am full of emotions saying good bye to this group. I am so proud of the growth they have made, and I am grateful for the amazing memories with them. Happy summer everyone!😁
Hi everyone! I have been on Twitter for a while now, but I'm looking forward to my new literacy follows. My name is Jordan Dobzanski, and I am a 5th-grade ELA teacher. I am currently working on my Master's program at Rowan to be certified as a reading specialist! #RowanLiteracy
Kicking off our day of dance with the 5th Grade assembly! Happily hosting all 6 of our 5th grade elementary schools in a preview of tonight’s concert, “Headlines!” Still some tickets left for tonight at 7p! @TWPDanceDept@Ms_EJacks@WTDirectorElEd @SuperintendWTPS
Our 5th grade ELEMEnTS students won the 2022 New Jersey Bar Association Law Fair Competition! They worked so hard to prepare for this competition and gave it their all. Way to go!
Shout out to @kerszi for a great presentation on Reading Progress with Microsoft Teams! This program is going to make checking every students’ fluency more accessible (which this busy teacher is thankful for). I am so excited to use this in my class!
