2T trying out our new writing checklist stickers. Self and peer checks make us more accountable when we edit our writing. Nearly time publish these masterpieces. @FairWestPS@Genelle029
2T identifying noun groups, proper nouns and vivid verbs in each other’s writing before adding punctuation. Peer feedback is so useful in reaching writing goals. @Genelle029@FairWestPS
2T were inspired by Aussie artist, Ken Done. They created colourful Sydney Harbour Bridge artworks using vibrant colours. Just perfect for a Friday afternoon in Sydney. @FairWestPS@Genelle029
2T got to wondering why the Sydney Harbour Bridge is made with so many triangles, so we did some research. We made squares and triangles and then applied pressure to see which was the most sturdy. Can you guess which was the strongest? @FairWestPS@Genelle029
Here is 2T’s interpretation of Dorothea Mackellar’s poem ‘My Country’. Our choice of colours and textures show the sunburnt country with droughts and flooding rains. What a spectacular exhibition.@FairWestPS@Genelle029
2T learnt so many new basketball skills today with Daniel from the West Sydney Wolves. What a fabulous way to start the week- energised and buzzing from all of that teamwork. @FairWestPS@Genelle029 Thanks for organising @RamanHormis
Thursday is S.T.E.M in 2T. It’s not without its challenges and frustrations, but there is so much to learn about collaboration and perseverance. Some succeeded today, and some did not. We will try again. Check out our catapults! @FairWestPS@Genelle029
Another afternoon of S.T.E.M in 2T saw problem solving and challenges, but nevertheless they persevered and succeeded in creating their own whirligigs! @FairWestPS@Genelle029
Pink, pink and more pink! This book got 2T thinking about possible surveys they could conduct around the topic of ‘colour.’ What’s better than pink? Pink glitter! @FairWestPS@Genelle029
@janemarielynch ‘s ‘Marlene, Marlene, Queen of Mean’ inspired 2T to write a letter to Marlene. We squeezed some toothpaste out of a tube, but couldn’t put it back in. Our mean words can be like the toothpaste- hard to put back in, or take back. @FairWestPS@Genelle029
Nothing like a S.T.E.M challenge to get 2T thinking, planning, experimenting and learning. Messy fun was had by all today. @FairWestPS@Genelle029 Thanks @e_prasad78 and @LMrmacovska for helping with the clean up 😊
We love Jeannie Baker books in 2T, and they’re a fantastic way to explore new vocab. As we read, we were able to use context clues to match the new vocab with the images. These new words are off to our ‘bowerbird wall.’ @FairWestPS@Genelle029@e_prasad78@TanjaIcl
Today we used the game ‘headache’ as a fun way to explore missing addends. Thanks for the fresh ideas @Ranya_Isaac and @e_prasad78 for the support in class.

Science Fun Session was a fantastic start to Education Week @FairWestPS ! These Year 2 scientists were inspired by Thomas Edison and Alessandro Volta as they experimented with batteries, light bulbs and motors. #EdWeek19@Genelle029
Today 2T used Anthony Browne’s ‘Silly Billy’ to explore things we can say to help our friends and ourselves when worries are getting us down.@FairWestPS@Genelle029
