Last week, students practiced writing introduction and body paragraphs using evidence from a DBQ packet! After fall break, Iβll be working with students to practice more with DBQs about the Byzantine Empire!πβοΈ

Today in 7th grade we discussed the design elements of cathedrals and how influential the Roman Catholic Church was on daily life in medieval Europe! π°π Looking forward to my first lesson with this group soon! β¨π
Today also marked my last day at @DrakesCreekMS! Iβve had such a blast this semester getting to know all my Gators and have learned so much from my mentor teacher, Mrs. Gary. Iβm going to miss being back in 8th grade ELA!! ππ€β¨

I taught my second lesson today! We talked about color symbolism, watched a clip from βInside Outβ, and did a Jigsaw strategy to learn about the different colors and what they represent! It was a great day! πβ¨

This week Iβm focusing on diversity in the classroom! In the future, I want to incorporate this book into instruction somehow! Itβs a great example of how students and teachers should treat one another; because everyone deserves to feel included and appreciated at school! π
As I plan for my next lesson, I want students to work together using a cooperative learning strategy, like the jigsaw activity! Students will become βexpertsβ on different aspects of symbolism and share what they learn with their classmates in their home groups! βοΈπ
Great day at Drakes Creek today! Ms. G and I ran the grammar warm up, students finished watching Romeo and Juliet, and we ended class with a close read on one of the scenes in the written version of the play! π₯β€οΈβ¨ @DrMargarella@WKUCEBS@WKUSTE@CEPTatWKU@wku@DrakesCreekMS
After leading a grammar warm up, Ms. G and I helped students with their counterclaim and rebuttal paragraphs for their argumentative essays about Frankenstein! π§ββοΈπ€ @DrMargarella@WKUCEBS@WKUSTE@CEPTatWKU@wku@DrakesCreekMS
The use of a thumbs up formative assessment will be used as a quick gauge of how my students feel about the content in my class!
