We had the BEST time in SRT today. Students were challenged to put together a puzzle, BUT only 1 teammate could touch the pieces & that teammate was BLINDFOLDED! Our key takeaways revolved around patience and communication. #familyofKnights

We paused reading our last novel of the year, Restart, for iReady testing. After 3 days, we needed a quick review of the what we've read so far before jumping back in. Students refreshed their memories with a Color by Character to review the story's plot. 🖍

Students practiced their argumentative writing skills by grading reason paragraphs written by some of their teachers. After evaluating the organization and evidence, students declared @Wetzel125 the winner of best paragraph. They will use her paragraph to finish the essay. 📝

A gallery walk helped us classify theme statements. After sorting statements from around the room, students distinguished the difference between a strong and weak theme statement. Students applied their learning by developing a theme of their own after reading Ch.10-12 in ALWW.

A chalk talk while reading chapters 7-9 of ALWW had us making inferences on what we think a water crisis is. Students began a research task on the topic shortly after to prep for an informative essay. Ask a 7G student about the consequences of not having access to clean water. 💧
