A special delivery to come home to… My first published book chapters! 📖🏳️🌈
Thank you @DrAdamBrett & @DrCatherineLee for the opportunity to share my thoughts and experiences in ‘The Guide to LGBTQ+ Research’ @EmeraldGlobal

Semester 1 classes have come to a close, just in time for winter break ❄️ Here’s @MissFeather_ and the 2024 MA Ed & MA SEND students enjoying their final Critical Thinking lecture 🧠💭
My favourite teaching session of the academic year so far! It was so interesting to hear the diversity of perspectives amongst my learners on the rise in tuition fees and the possible social & educational implications. 💭 @UoS_MAEdu
Our critical thinking students have been engaging in Paideia Seminar and Socratic Questioning tonight with @MissFeather_ 💬 The group critically engaged with a news article from this week on the rise in university tuition fees.
A gorgeous ending to a very busy week… One of my students popped into the office with a lovely token of appreciation after receiving her thesis feedback earlier in the week. I can’t wait to celebrate our students’ achievements at winter graduation @UoS_MAEdu 🎓🫶🏼
Charlotte & Reece joined colleagues from the Faculty of Health Sciences & Wellbeing to present at today’s @pro_northeast conference @NorthumbriaUni. The team shared decolonial practices in research with peers across our 5 North East Universities 🌍 @MissFeather_
Excellent keynote at @pro_northeast by Dr @ChantelleJLewis @UniofOxford on the possibilities of sociological imagination and stoicism in education & research. “When we feel resistance doing this work, both personally and professionally… we have to reflect on what connects us.”
Thank you @HoldsworthFiona for sharing your knowledge and experience with my students this evening. It was so valuable exploring the relationship between healthcare and education, with a specific focus on childhood bereavement ❤️🩹
In tonight’s SEMH module, our learners explored the ways in which we can help children and young people navigate grief and bereavement - with guest lecturer Fiona Holdsworth from the Faculty of Nursing & Health Sciences ❤️🩹
Teaching our Introduction to Criticality module is one of the highlights of my week at the moment! The conversations that emerge never fail to amaze me and I always leave with more themes to reflect on ✨
Our MA students have been engaging in lots of critical reflection this week. Visual art was used to promote critical discussion between the students, with consideration of how they can use imagery as an educational tool in their own contexts 🧠
Blessed to have such an incredible cohort of MA students – both on campus and via distance learning – this year 🫶🏼
Leading our critical thinking module means I get to find out so much about our learners’ diverse educational experiences 🌍💡
Tonight was the first session of ‘Introduction to Criticality’ for our MA Education and MA SEND & Inclusion on-campus students @sunderlanduni 💡We had so many interesting conversations around the power of critical thought in educational spaces @MissFeather_
