So proud of all my students today. You’ve done yourselves proud and deserve all of your success. I’ve missed teaching you and seeing you all today was an absolute joy! ❤️ Hoping to see some of you in September. You’re all stars! 🌟
Congratulations to all of our students today. Well done on your achievements over the past few years. It has been great working with you and we are really excited to see what you do next!! Good luck teamstw! #teamstwa#teammaths
Congratulations to all A-level students receiving their results today. I know it’s a strange time but you have all worked so hard these last two years and you deserve your success. Well done!
I’ve spent most of my half-term holiday curriculum-planning for next year. Am I the only one who mentally pictures how my students will react to content I’m planning? I swear I can hear their reactions to the texts. 😂
So it’s been six weeks in lockdown. As the summer holidays normally last six weeks, next week will mark the longest I’ve gone without teaching any students face-to-face since I started training to teach 7 1/2 years ago.I miss my students immensely. I hope they’re all staying safe.
All teachers I know are planning for next year, setting work online for current students, communicating with students and parents and putting ourselves at risk when we go in to look after children of key workers. This is tone-deaf and shameful journalism from a former Head.
This has made me so angry. Not the bit about extending the school day but the bit where he says teachers are just “sitting at home” during the lockdown. Could not be further from the truth!

@MrHW_Eng@Team_English1 I would take a thematic approach, avoid focusing on exam skills explicitly. Look at it in terms of “viewpoints”. Expressing a viewpoint, opinion writing, current issues etc.
Going to be making my first YouTube videos later on today, to support the use of Google Classrooms and Show My Homework. Thankful to be working in a forward-thinking school and department, with invested students. So many ways to keep going and keep learning!
@STWAMathematics and @BethanyDarke becoming YouTube stars 💯 and @STWAEnglish nailed on to be TikTok sensations 👌
The effort is just immeasurable. We #NeverGiveUp and always find a way. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, these staff really care.
@Cornishwelsh @Team_English1 The Great Gatsby, Hamlet, The Sign of Four. All with much opportunity for poetry, prose, non-fiction etc as secondary texts.
Loads of amazing work yet again from my students being sent to me. Special mention today to one student in Y9 who sent me these four pages of her wonderful work today. Learning about the four humours and where the word ‘Melancholy’ (used to describe Hamlet) comes from!
Some of my Y9s sent me their work from today via SMHW or email, by typing or scanning/photographing their distance learning exercise books. What absolute stars!
