Dear my good friend, my sister, and one of the female artists I love, defend, critic and admire so much, Sheebah Karungi❤️,

I love and respect you immensely that no words cld ever explain but on this particular issue btn Panda and Gloria, I fundamentally disagree with you. I agree completely that Gloria crossed an emotional boundary by bringing up Panda’s orphanhood and the loss of his child. That was deeply hurtful, unnecessary and wrong, and we rightly condemned it.

But fairness demands that we also acknowledge what came before it. Panda crossed a personal boundary too through name-calling, sexual shaming and body shaming Gloria, including labelling her a prostitute and making degrading remarks about her BBL that she used pig fats🐷. That was equally unacceptable.

And Shee, as a feminist, I believe you would ordinarily be the first to caution and call out Panda for personally attacking and body-shaming a fellow woman before condemning her retaliation. Gloria’s response does not become right because Panda provoked her, but Panda’s provocation does not become right simply because Gloria’s retaliation went too far.

So I think both should be condemned, not just one. Panda is not a villain and Gloria is not a saint…and neither is the other way around. They both crossed lines, and we should apply the same standard to both.

Moving forward my Shee and the whole society, let us call for mutual respect, accountability and an end to personal attacks. Panda matters. Gloria matters. And everyone’s dignity matters.
