This week, Alison Appleby was crowned Miss Dallas Teen USA.
Alison has epilepsy, and when she won, her service dog, Brady, was by her side the entire time.
They even gave him his own tiny crown.

@CultExpert For those of you who have vision issues, are auditory learners, or aren't able to fit reading this outstanding book into your schedule, I recommend getting this in Audible. Excellent narration by Steven Hassan himself.
@hansford_beth You can pick up the Bible if/when you're comfortable. There are several books that have been helpful for me such as Empty The Pews (various contributors), Stupid Sh*t Heard in Church (Chris Kratzer). For later, Psalms for Praying (Nan Merrill) - the Psalms beautifully paraphrased
@CultExpert I'm interested in listening to this. One of my friends was raised in the WCG, leaving it as a young adult. He became a lay minister at a mainstream church for years before leaving and forming his own quasi Messianic Jewish church which is quite controlling and authoritarian.
The beginning of #MemorialDayWeekend. Please remember amongst the BBQs, discounts, family gatherings, today is not a day to thank current troops. Memorial Day is a day to remember those fallen in war. To honor those servicemen and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
@BEzzell This is heartbreaking. I have some dear, lovely friends who relocated to Oklahoma from Oregon (not far from Portland), and, though they did lean toward conservative ideology before, have now become extreme.
Behind every service dog team is a deep bond. Pumpkin is devoted to Nancy, living up to the "Poodle focus" tendency. Many Poodles are one-person dogs, and the rest of the world hardly exists. This can be a useful trait for training. #ServiceDog#ThursdayFursday#DogsOfTwitter
NTI advocates for #disability. We 💜 service animals and the way they assist people with visible and invisible disability and illness. "Service dogs should not be only for people who are wealthy, well-connected or have overt physical disabilities." https://t.co/KdfPzWHfmX
