SCIENCE DAY!🥼
As ‘Science Lead’ at my school, I organised a Science Day to celebrate #BritishScienceWeek
Each child brought in a white shirt to decorate as a lab coat. We covered them in everything we’ve learnt about Science! Here’s my WAGOLL that I showed in assembly!👩🏻🔬🧑🏼🔬
Y6 looked at a WAGOLL and checklist from @Grammarsaurus1 today, and we LOVED it!🤩
We’re focusing on instructional texts this week, so we analysed this piece before our writing tomorrow! I can’t wait to see the children’s work😍

We had a go at ‘Marvellous Medicine Making’ for Sensational Start today! We started our new topic off with a bang.💥Now for 3 full weeks of George’s Marvellous Medicine!🧪🌟
📊SMARTIES STATS📈
Year 6 finished off Maths for the year with a Smarties Project. We analysed a packet fo smarties each, and used our statistics skills to represent what we found!🍫
SENSATIONAL START DAY🎊
We started our ‘Private Peaceful’ topic today with 6 ‘investigation stations’ to explore and discuss.🔍
The children learnt lots of new facts about WW1, and this activity gave me a great opportunity to find out about their prior knowledge.🤩
👮🏻CRIME SCENE ALERT👮🏼♂️
Y6 returned from their lunch to find out there had been a murder in the classroom! They had several substances to analyse to see if they could help the police. In the end, they found their prime suspect by working scientifically🔬 #BritishScienceWeek
This is my AMAZING class investigating light this afternoon. They discovered how to split white light into a spectrum of colours using a prism🤩🌈 #BritishScienceWeek2021
@zoe_in_y3 They loved it! They have 7 suspicious powders to analyse (observe and record reactions with water and vinegar) and have to link each one to subjects, and then one powder matches ‘substance X’ left behind on the body, revealing who the culprit is!
