Not posted on X since I retired a year ago! I’ve finally done my retirement gift!! Thank you so much to Winchelsea for giving me this experience. My instructor said how cool it was as a gift and not the usual retirement present. My response - Winchelsea never was ‘usual’!
If you work in a school, check in with your headteacher. Offer them a cup of tea or coffee. It can make a huge difference for someone carrying a heavy load. Remember, they are human beings too. ☕️
Little pop in at Winchelsea - how lovely to see staff and children! It was like I’ve never been away ( apart from the end of term tiredness!) Happy Christmas to you all - enjoy the festive break!
Home from my 1st trip abroad outside of school term times in MY ENTIRE LIFE!!! My Mum was also a teacher. What a treat! But the difference in costs must be addressed if the government want to stop families going on holiday in term time- I’ve never believed fines are the answer.
First ‘half term’ of ‘retirement’ completed and it’s gone so much more quickly than when I was at school!! Do you think I will forever think in timescales of school terms?! Hope all the staff and pupils enjoy their break.
@MissSuzieReid I’ve really enjoyed watching all the tweets this week and seeing all the adventures you have been enjoying. Still Team Winchelsea all the way!!!
You have all added to my memories which are the most important thing for me. Winchelsea will always be in my heart and none of you are far away so I will be keeping in touch. Have a wonderful summer and for those that weren’t here to hear my last words I share my poem x
So I’ve made it to the end of the day without embarrassing myself too much! Such an emotional day with tears and hugs from children, parents and staff. I am overwhelmed by the lovely words on my cards and letters and the wonderful gifts that I will cherish.
Sapphire class have had a great start to the day- a water fight with Opal class! Apparently the aim was to get Mrs Cox and Mrs Pickworrh as wet as possible!!! 😂 @Winchelsea1 @WinchelseaMrsP
Very kind words. I have been privileged to be Head of Winchelsea and have loved the personal connections I have made with children, parents, staff colleagues, governors and the wider community and look forward to hearing about your future successes.
