@PaulCarneyArts If there was any logic to their plan to reopen schools they would have done this during half term. Why reopen with the exact same risks as last time with no obvious changes? Why not reduce the risk of school closures due to staff absence/sickness and vaccinate? Simple really. 🤔

@jmaine272 @SkyNewsBreak The DfE advises against wearing masks (& thus doesn’t supply PPE) as it’s deemed detrimental to teaching & learning. Pupils will soon say they can’t hear or understand what you’re saying if you try to wear one &/or can become confrontational when facing a visual reminder of risk.

The risk is far far greater when it goes from masked adults passing by (the majority of whom should know to distance anyway) to 1-2 hours in close proximity to unmasked children.

Remember when the UK news covered the original COVID outbreak in Italy? It seemed otherworldly. We watched and our government didn’t use the opportunity to prepare or protect us. When did we get to a point where 500 deaths per day is ‘low enough’ to relieve a lockdown? Shambles.

I think it’s disgusting for anyone to imply that ANYONE should be restricted from receiving medical intervention when needed).
