You can tell a lot about a person by what they do after hurting you. Some apologize. Some reflect. Some change. And some will rewrite the entire story in their head just to avoid feeling guilty. Accountability is rare because protecting the ego is easier than becoming better.
No one talks enough about the heavy regret that comes from being vulnerable with someone you thought was a safe place, only to realize it wasn't. It teaches you to be more careful with your heart and intentional about who gets access to you.
If you offer me a sincere apology and change your behavior, I'll never bring up our past issues again. But if no apology was given and you're still repeating mistakes, you can't ask me to stop mentioning the past. The past is actually the present if you haven't changed.
my mom once told me "accountability will always feel like an attack when you are not ready to acknowledge how your behavior harms others" and that shit is real.
I hate when people misconstrue something I do or say as disrespect, like I’m very direct with disrespect I wouldn’t even leave no room for you to question it
Some people have a lot to say about lives they've never lived, offering opinions on struggles they've never faced, and passing judgment on paths they've never walked.
I don’t understand people who aren’t empathetic. Like you really can’t stop for just one second and think about how you would feel if I did that to you.
There are soooo many things I tolerated, that I'll never tolerate again. Things I've done, that I'll never do again. But, that's the beautiful thing about growth…You wake up one day and you are really over it.
