'Sand mining...has killed mangroves & seagrasses necessary for the survival of the rare hairy nosed otters...green turtles & Irrawaddy dolphins.'

Storm damage from Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas, back in 2017, was, "seriously exacerbated" by sand mining (legal & illegal) in the San Jacinto River. The way we're building cities is contributing to their destruction. #storm#rivers#floods

Hydrogen cyanide detected in home of 7 year old Zane, a previously healthy child who died of cardiac arrest when his home in #Surrey flooded. It is thought flood waters picked up the highly toxic chemical from landfill. @leanahosea@RachSalv#flood

@Pureclearwater2@leanahosea@RachSalv Hydrogen cyanide - used in chemical weapons, fumigation, pesticides, dyes & other chemical processes - must be treated before appropriate disposal ie not dumped in a landfill by a flood plain in a residential area #pollution#rivers#water
@Pureclearwater2@leanahosea@RachSalv Journalists from @BBCLondonNews & @TheENDSReport found government officials had briefed the media cause of death was carbon monoxide poisoning before a post mortem had even taken place. Investigators found no evidence whatsoever to support these claims. https://t.co/lFQhzb3kfU

Uncovered new evidence with @RachSalv surrounding the death of little Surrey boy @TruthAboutZane & the role of the deadly Hydrogen Cyanide. The family live next to an old landfill. Could flood waters have washed poison into their home?https://t.co/0mATWm7YFh
Fresh evidence uncovered by me and @leanahosea bolsters a family's claim that hydrogen cyanide from a landfill killed their son. The govt line is that carbon monoxide was the cause. But hydrogen cyanide was found in the house and carbon monoxide WAS NOT.

This Chalk stream received 52mm of rainfall on Tuesday but safe from Agricultural pollutants & Road runoff & with a large Woodland/Riparian buffer zone it received no🐟killing silt or Phosphates💀 Dreaming of the day when all are rivers properly protected @theriverstrust
It really upsets me that we build on farm land, whilst also recognising that we need to do something meaningful to help stop the warming of our planet. I am not convinced that homeless people need fancy 3/4 bedroom houses either, so we’re not even solving the real housing problem
