The generosity of the children and staff at my placement school 🥺 so much love for my time in Year 4- just EYFS week to go and then the next time I'll be in a classroom hopefully it will be my own 🤞
Had an amazing but challenging couple of weeks in my placement school and cannot wait for two weeks off now to relax before diving into my exciting timetable when I get back in January! Hoping for more sunrises to make the early starts easier🌄
Term One of Uni finishes tommorow and it's been great being back on campus since October, participating in lots of lessons bursting with ideas for my placement that begins next week!
Nervous but excited to start in KS2🙌
@Mat_at_Brookes@jonnybid@nikkigamble For me, it comes down to this - the books and texts available and an enthusiastic adult - we have to be the significant reader in children’s lives - there’s almost always someone who turns them on to reading!
My time at my placement school came to an end yesterday, after extending my time there to stay and help them out. Its been an amazing but challenging experience in such a caring school and I will no doubt remember them forever!
Now onto my third and final year of practice 😊
First day in my new placement school officially over and I'm so excited to get stuck in! Such a welcoming environment & cannot wait to see what the next few weeks bring!
Organising the notes I've been taking within the inclusion conference this week which @EHU_FOE have put on! Some really informative sessions and lectures to enhance our knowledge!
Anybody who thinks teachers aren't working... I started at my computer at 8.30 this morning, didn't get break or lunch, 15 minutes for dinner, then started parents' evening at 4.30 which will run until 8.30. 12 hours in front of a screen... only to be insulted in the press daily.
So pleased with my result for English specialism! The perfect boost after finding adjusting back to the new guidelines and the workload tricky. Hopefully gonna get me back into the groove for all the upcoming assignments I've got to get my teeth into!
Light & Shadows in Science this week, I took a break from doing the maths assignment to get a little creative with these puppets! Definetly would be enjoyed by children ✔
Back in with my first Foundation lesson of the year: D&T! Sadly an online lesson for me but still had so much fun being creative and getting into the process of planning, designing and making a very basic kitchen for.. Winnie the Pooh (my resources were few and far between)🤣
I love my university & there is no doubt they're doing their best to give us the most normal education and support they can.
But at the end of the day, we need the government to do that too. Because they can't expect us to just cope any longer. #COVID19#nationallockdown
Please know, if you’re struggling, you’re not on your own. There are so many people waiting to listen & support you. Asking for help does not make you weak, it makes you human. Remember, you have made it through your very worst days… you really are made of the strongest stuff🌈
Set up my EPP online this afternoon after my informative APD session! Was very apprehensive about not having a physical TSP as I much prefer hard copies but now I've made it I'm excited to start adding bits when I can 🥰
Added this little piece of writing to my log for major this week, writing about lockdown in a little poem. I love reading but always despised writing poetry🤣
