Today we had another fantastic lunchtime session in the library. We watched 'Heartstopper'; made badges and bracelets and decorated cakes with LGBTQ+ flags.
Fantastic day with staff and pupils wearing bright colours and odd socks to celebrate diversity and equality. Congratulations to Keira Havelock for the most diverse pupil costume. Well done to our PE teachers for being the most colourful department! 🤩
Today's lunchtime film celebrating diversity and equality with @MissJacksonRMPS was 'The Prince of Egypt.' There is a film on at lunchtime in the library Mon-Thurs this week. Come along!
Excited to be organising equalities and diversity events at Forres Academy with @DorothyLRoss and @ForresAcadLib ! We have some awesome events planned 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Much fun was had today at the TTRPG (Table Top Roleplaying Game) Club. It's tough being a Game Master, but these young leaders are superb and up for the challenge! @forresacademy1 in conjunction with @ForresAcadLib
4) Yes, a lot of my time is currently being used for administration and organising the club. 🖨️📚 However, by next year I will have a small troop of pupils ready to teach others, the resources gathered, the printing and laminating done.
1) Thinking of creating a school TTRPG Club?
My new motto is: ✨"If you run a TTRPG session for pupils, you will entertain them for a day. If you inspire pupils to run their own TTRPG session, you will entertain their friends and them for a lifetime.”✨
3) When I started @ClubTtrpg and had 63 pupils sign up within 2.5 weeks, I realised I would have to try a different approach. I have discovered that assisting pupils to run their own games is better. It develops their independence, leadership skills and self-sufficiency.
@MissHughesRMPS It's fine. I'll leave our baker positive post-it-notes in the staff room for support! Supposedly there is education research to suggest positivity works or something.... I dunno 😂
62 pupils have signed up for Forres Academy's TTRPG Club and that's like 7% of our school's student body. We are so excited to support so many pupils who want to develop skills like creativity and teamwork.
