Yesterday my school hosted a “Brave the Barber” event in honor of one of my students that is currently battling cancer. Each boy in my class shaved their head-I’m inspired by their strength, positivity and support they have shown their friend over the past few months #rjstrong 💜
My fifth graders have been learning how to add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators. They worked in groups to practice this skill by using their “VeraTiles.” The students use this self-check system,by using the pattern to create a puzzle. 🧩 #5thgrade#versatiles
This group of 4th and 5th graders lead our school’s rosary today! They went “live” in our school’s broadcasting studio in front of the green screen! This was a very cool experience and I am so proud of them! 🙏🏼
Writing Workshop: Opinion Writing Unit✍🏻 4th grade has been learning how to write an opinion essay that consists of an introduction, 4 body paragraphs and a conclusion. Today they used their OREO graphic organizer to make their body paragraphs come to life in their rough drafts!

My 4th grade class has been working hard the past few weeks on their “Wipe Container Project” with a Thanksgiving theme! Their challenge was to repurpose an empty wipe container into something with a new and useful purpose! 🍂
Today was one of our distance learners Birthday! So of course we had to have a virtual celebration! During bell work, each student created a page to add to our friends birthday book! 🎂🎉
Rotation Stations!! Every Thursday and Friday, both of my classes get to have math station time that go over the major concepts that we are learning in class. We have the same stations for 2 weeks and the students rotate to a new station each day! Great way to differentiate 😀
Nouns, nouns and more nouns. This week we started our nouns unit in 5th grade English. We start each lesson with our nouns chant & add more movements and words each day! Great way to build academic language and student engagement!! #wholebrainteaching
My 4th & 5th graders have been working on creative writing pieces in ELA. Today my students used @Flipgrid to share their writing and to provide feedback to their peers!
My 4th graders have been working on the comprehension skill “cause and effect” as we read a story. Today we went to our school’s prayer garden, read aloud “My Librarian is a Camel” as a class, and found cause & effect examples from the text. Our distance learners joined us too 😀
