The United States government is founded on the principle of being "of the people, by the people, for the people"—meaning it exists to serve the citizens, not the other way around. The will of the people should guide government actions, not override them.

Recent polls show overwhelming public support for requiring voter ID to cast a ballot. For example:
A Gallup poll found 84% of Americans favor requiring photo identification to vote.
A Pew Research Center survey showed 83% support for requiring government-issued photo ID, including 95% of Republicans and 71% of Democrats.
When such a strong majority of voters—often 80% or higher across parties—clearly wants secure election measures like voter ID, the government has a duty to implement them. Refusing to do so puts government priorities or special interests above the expressed will of the people, which borders on tyrannical disregard for democratic principles. A "no" vote is a threat to democracy.

Any elected official who votes against common-sense voter ID requirements is failing to represent their constituents. Such a vote prioritizes personal, partisan, or elite interests over the public's clear preference and undermines the oath they took to support and defend the Constitution.
This isn't about representation—it's about self-interest at the expense of the people whose rights and voices they swore to protect.

If an official's record shows they consistently ignore overwhelming public support on core issues like this, they don't truly represent you.

The solution is straightforward: hold them accountable at the ballot box. Vote them out in general elections, challenge them in primaries, and replace them with those who will honor both the Constitution and the will of the people.

Your vote is the ultimate check on those who forget who they serve.
