After a couple of long days some of my favourite phrases have been: 'They really enjoy History'
'They talk about History at home' 'They want to take History at A-level'
This is exactly why we all teach! #historyteacher
So proud, as always, of my Year 11s smashing their Comp 1 and Comp 2 coursework. Results out today and it just shows their hard work has paid off. Love seeing their faces light up when I tell them their results. Well done Year 11 🥳👏🏾 @GeorgeEliotAcad#BTECHealthandSocialCare
Celebrating #WorldBookDay with some incredibly creative book themed doors created by staff and pupils. Judging is tomorrow so watch out for the winners!
A moment of joy this week, one of my pupils stopped me, to tell me how much they are enjoying the book they have chosen to read for @histassoc Young Quills Award 2024 - lovely to see a passion for reading historical fiction from @GeorgeEliotAcad pupils.
Some amazing flash cards produced by @GeorgeEliotAcad Y10 GCSE pupils in preparation for an end of topic test 💪👏
It is great to see how the study skills sessions by @MissKP10 have been applied to develop student revision techniques
Today, I stood up and shared a teaching and learning technique to allow for checking for understanding, with all the staff - even doing some deliberate practice (thank you to my amazing team) - this was outside my comfort zone but so pleased I did it.
Today I spoke to 65+ RE colleagues about worldviews and my Farmington Scharship. Two years ago when I first started, I would never have dreamt of doing this.
Thank you for all the support @kairosbutterfly @PhilEthics_dept@MissKP10@missharsley1@DeeStanton7
Study Skills @GeorgeEliotAcad - This half term, our focus has been the humble Flashcard for all year groups. A small but powerful tool in supporting pupils with building revision skills for the future and positive routines for learning. #aimforexcellence#GEAStudySkills
