We're proud to support Roland Perry, Aidy Perry's dad, as he takes on a hiking challenge in memory of his son. Aidy was a student at Vandyke, and we wish Roland the very best of luck as he raises funds for three charities that supported Aidy & his family. https://t.co/8zWncVNBWc

When @MissKShepEng and Gemma deserve only the “bougiest” send off by yours truly. You’ll be missed - the legends of literacy @ChilternA Thank you to the most amazing team who helped make it extra special 😍
Every word of this post is beautiful & true. It is all too easy to lower our expectations of what children can do. We must guard against this by being open to challenge about whether we expect enough, not just with respect to curriculum, but also with behaviour & character.
I’ll be sad to leave this fantastic position at the end of the academic year after six years. This school nurtured me from NQT to Second in Department and it will always have a special place in my heart. Whoever gets this role will be very lucky. 🍀

Word of the day is ‘beek’ (13th century): to bask in the pleasurable warmth of the sun.
Also available as a noun, as in ‘I took a wonderful beek today’.
If you don’t have a deep understanding of your subject then no amount of ‘teaching strategies’ or ‘science learning ‘ techniques will help. Indeed, without subject knowledge you could use all the techniques and still be ineffective.
Happy 100th birthday to The Great Gatsby, published on this day exactly a century ago.
A novel that achieves the rare accolade of being both revered by critics *and* loved by readers – and possessor of one of the greatest final lines in all of literature.
We’ve got *five* courses on this one.
@susie_dent please may you help us? We are wondering why the word ‘vim’ is never used independently of the phrase ‘vim and vigour’? I have tried the internet, but to no avail.
Okay I rarely reach out on here for help but do I have any English teachers who also teach AQA media studies that I can pick the brains of please?
Please RT ❤️
