@teacher2teacher When a student arrives in class and you can tell *something* isn’t right, I nonchalantly sidle up and discreetly ask, “Sick, sad or sleepy?” It’s a low risk way to open the conversation and shows them that you actually noticed their mood changes and care. Builds the connection.
