had the most VIVID dream two nights ago that I was asked to tutor David Beckham’s daughter to help her pass her English GCSE but my maps app wasn’t working and I was going to be late (dream brain said they lived in Canterbury, apparently…?)
a week full of lots of things but we made the most of what we could ☺️ a beach visit with y10 and trip to see our favourite Shakespeare with @carolinedaisy ✨🤍
Heard an interesting comment on teacher wellbeing this evening.
“You don’t realise you were so unwell until you feel better. Then you’re in shock at how you didn’t know at the time.”
It’s so sad that it’s probably so true.
@MrB_abc week one of Spring 1 makes perfect sense (and is admirable) - I saw another tweet about the whole of the first half term being completely done and that just made me go 🤯
just saw a tweet from a teacher saying they were prepped/planned/printed right up until the end of Spring 1 BEFORE finishing the Christmas term?? I respect the hustle but I don’t think I even remembered to put the bin outside my office door for emptying before the end of term 🤦🏼♀️
Defending that is, to me, absolutely disgusting. She was a child and he was an adult. And so were all the people around him who knew this was happening and didn’t do a thing to stop it. How can anyone sit on their phone and type a tweet to defend that? End/🧵
This R*ssel Br*nd dispatches is creating a dialogue online that absolutely blows my mind.
I’m not surprised in the slightest that a man with power did horrific things…no no, I work in child protection, I know this happens. What I *am* surprised at is 1/🧵
that there are so many people (who do not know this man in a personal capacity) willing to defend him publicly when at least one allegation surrounds a child. A child who was picked up from school to go and see him and experience things no child should experience. 2/🧵
