@JHBWater No water in Bryanston on Banbury Street - this water leak has been there on Cnr Banbury & Blackpool street since Saturday. We have had no water since - can we please get an update
Helen Zille and the Institute of Race Relations must take full responsibility for the collapse of the stable coalition government I was running because they accused me for concentrating too much efforts in areas where people don’t pay taxes and don’t vote for the DA. When I resigned upon the return of Helen in the leadership of the DA, because I didn’t want to be associated with South Africans like her, Council had already approved and awarded 154 buildings to the private sector on long leases. These properties were going to yield:
1. R32 billion construction investments into the city
2. Create 22 thousand permanent jobs during the construction phase
3. Create a historic 14 thousand housing units
One of Helen’s problems was must demand that 30% of the units to be affordable accommodation for our poor residents and students.
When Geoff Makhubo took over, with support from some DA councillors mobilised by Helen, dropped the Inner City Rejuvenation Plan.
The NGOs that keep running to the courts to interdict the City and protect building hijackers need to be charged with defeating the ends of justice and racketeering.
We must define them as an integral part of the criminal cartels. They are part of the problem.
@GovernmentZA Why are public comments on drafts law not require some sort of identification to ensure only citizens of that country are able to comment? Like this is open to mobilization from illegal foreigners to send thousands of emails to distort the outcomes of the public commentary!!
Minister Leon Schreiber invites public comment on the Draft Revised White Paper on Citizenship, Immigration and Refugee Protection
Following approval by Cabinet, the Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Leon Schreiber, has today published the Draft Revised White Paper on Citizenship, Immigration and Refugee Protection in the Government Gazette for public comment.
In keeping with a directive by Cabinet to maximise public participation beyond the festive season, the period for public comment will be open until 31 January 2026.

Guys, if we stay silent now, we lose the right to complain later.
Let’s all make our submission 👇🏾 👇🏾 . Let the majority’s voice be heard on immigration. Re lapile
We found money stashed under beds at Iphi Ntombi during our raid. Foreign nationals are conducting lucrative business with no accountability in South Africa. We have a serious lawlessness issue in this country. @CityTshwane
When a nation stops expecting a basic level of acceptable delivery, when incompetence becomes the norm, when corruption is met with resigned shrugs, when empty words pretend to be work, and platitudes replace progress, that’s when you know a society’s spirit is slowly, and deliberately, being hollowed out. Programming people to accept less.
Citizens can’t give up.
We must protect what remains, fix what is broken and focus on our infrastructure, roads, schools, hospitals and everything that is essential in building equality, safety, dignity, viable families and brighter futures.
Complacency is complicity. Words are meaningless without action.

OK guys. I'm triggered. Conversations about @CityofJoburgZA@CityPowerJhb@JHBWater make me incandescent with anger. For the last fews months I've read the stories about the R972 million tenders that went to families or associates of officials. I bit my tongue because my rage is like a wildfire in my chest.
There was also the R335 million wasted on overpriced cleaning equipment. In June 2025, the High Court struck down the city's Property Rates Policy and called it "unlawful" and "procedurally dishonest." I shut up because this was too close to home.
Add the revenue collection contract which reportedly paid R210 million a year and the alleged conflict of interest involving then MMC for Finance, now mayor Dada Morero and Helen Botes.
And the incompetence? Do you recall a parliamentary committee flagging COJ for submitting documents 30 minutes before a key meeting?
Chronic water problems, electricity, uncut grass and wait for it, residents fighting to keep the public library open because they don't give a damn about what matters to residents, to children? How do you even fail to keep a historic library open? Bow your heads in shame!
This is personal because all the above are the reasons we no longer have a home in the city of our birth. We could not afford bills of R40K-R50K. And time spent asking them to explain. When we took legal route the bills went down🤔
It is not enough for Godongwana/ @GovernmentZA@PresidencyZA to form Working Groups or ask Dada for explanations. You cannot teach empathy and decency. What they all need is a confrontation with reality. With so many people not paying because they are too indigent and some because they can afford but refuse to, you cannot squeeze those who pay and treat them with disdain. Their resources are not limitless.
You cannot demand that ratepayers finance your gravy train. Break them, and you will also collapse.
@CityofJoburgZA is a disgrace and residents deserve better.
Week in week out we tell the government that there is a serious human trafficking issue in South Africa and week in and week out, we are ignored. Women are getting picked off one after one. Now we know why. Now we know why. Sharp! 👌🏽
