Applied for a teacher role. Got offered the job. The contract says temporary even though it didn’t say that on the advert. Not had this before so I’m a bit confused. Anyone have suggestions for what could have happened? @UnofficialOA@CensoredHead@ProudHeadTeach1
@UnofficialOA@CensoredHead@ProudHeadTeach1 It just says temporary until August 2025. I really like the school though so I’m thinking that I just go for it and hope there’s a permanent vacancy at some point.
Performance management ideas? Anyone? Anyone??
Need a personal one and a leadership one. BUT I CAN’T THINK OF ANYTHING. My mind is blank. @MrTs_NQTs@PaulGarvey4
Please send ideas to get the ball rolling. Thank you xx
Been swamped this half term at work but you will NOT see me spending hours of my weekend planning. My students don’t deserve a tired and grumpy teacher.
Vinted is wild. I’ve already dropped the price of these trousers (worn once) from £2 to £1.50 and now they want an extra…check notes…25p off them? Dude c’mon.
Hey, does anyone know of studies about Pop Quiz vs End of Unit projects in History (or other wider curriculum subjects)? 🧵
My school uses pop quiz to gauge understanding at the end of the unit and it doesn’t seem very effective.
My last school worked towards end of unit project
And that seemed to showcase their learning and understand more but then the downside is that some teacher taught to the project and learning became narrow.
This week has made me love teaching again. The end of last year wasn’t enjoyable and I spent the summer looking at other jobs but then I got this new class. A range of abilities and so many personalities (which I love). And, importantly…
The parents are nice! The only questions I’ve had so far are about how they can support their kid (and for a lost pair of glasses). This time last year I’d already started receiving demanding and unreasonable messages that made be feel useless which soon gave into threats.
