Today, we started a new topic in science: Animals Including Humans 🐟🦜The children learned all about how to identify fish and birds. They then labelled the structure of each animal group and discussed how birds and fish are similar and different!

This afternoon, we went on a hunt in the playground for deciduous trees and evergreen trees 🌳🌲

The threats to the Great Barrier Reef inspired 1L so much that they started to think about what they could do in Droylsden to help protect our planet 🌏

In Geography, we learned all about the Great Barrier Reef and the threat of coral bleaching 🪸

Today, year 1 have been exploring the number bonds to 20 using tens fames and counters🤩
The children were also able to spot a pattern! They realised that if they know their number bonds to 10, this can help them to work out their number bonds to 20!➕🟰👌☺️ #MoorisdePAMaths

In maths, the children learnt how to measure different items in the classroom using a ruler. They then recorded the measurements in cm! 📏
To help us remember what to do we chanted:
