Using our promethean panel we have been discussing, choosing and ordering our snack for next week. Some of the children then decided to draw pictures of their favourite foods/ snacks we have at nursery 🍎🍌 #HealthyHenry#digitallearning
At nursery we have been celebrating and learning all about Chinese new year. Lots of fun as we took part in our very own dragon dance through the school, tasting yummy chinese food and investigating a range of Chinese symbols 🇨🇳🐉
What a great day we had today as we made and enjoyed our pancakes. We also had the delight of our ‘Grandparents day’ falling on pancake day, giving us the opportunity to enjoy pancakes with some lovely visitors 😀🥞
The children have recently been showing an interest in the Gruffalo. We have been exploring the animals within the story and taking adventures through the woods of wester inch! Some children have posted a letter to the Gruffalo & we are hoping for a special visit to nursery 👀🌳
Today we brought the story of the Three Little Pigs to life whilst out In the garden. The children built a house of sticks and bricks before then enjoying role playing in their costumes! What a fun way a retelling a story 📚🐷

Today the children went out for a walk in the snow with the help of Safe Sally. Focusing on how we stay safe whilst out and about and around water. We then bumped into a dog who also wanted to meet Safe Sally, we remembered to be safe when saying hello to the dog 😃
This afternoon another group of children took Safe Sally out on a walk around our local community. This time focusing on crossing the road safely and being safe around the nearby water 🌳 #GIRFEC#safesally
Adventure Ted has been on some very exciting adventures so far and the children have been so excited to share these with their peers back at nursery. I wonder where he will adventure to next 👀🧸

Tomorrow here at Simpson we are taking part in ‘soak the teacher’ to support BBC children in need. We are delighted to inform you that Miss Skinner & Miss McCabe are getting involved 😀 This is 50p per child. If your child wishes to take part please let a member of staff know!
Today at nursery we were very lucky to have a visit from @NHSChildsmile and a special puppet named Denny. The children explored and discussed ways we keep our teeth healthy and clean before we begin tooth brushing again here at nursery 🪥🦷
Here at Simpson primary and nursery class we are supporting children in need. We have a range of Pudsey merchandise available within our main entrance. We will also be taking part in a dress down day/ can wear Pudsey clothing on Friday 18th November 😀
Bringing real life experiences into play in our learning environment is one of our passions here at Simpson nursery. Many of our children have been showing an interest in pumpkins and have shared their experiences of pumpkin picking at home, so we brought it to life at nursery 🎃
The children’s interest in pumpkins continues to grow, today A suggested ‘let’s make a pumpkin pie!’… so using some of our pumpkins and apples from our apple tree we made a pie 🎃 Very tasty!
