Kung Hei Fat Choi! Happy Lunar New Year! We had fun learning about Chinese New Years and the significance behind it. Together, all five of the grade 3 classes came together to create a collective art project, representing the “Year of the Dragon.” @rvsed
We have been exploring the country of India and have been learning all about its landforms. Using prior knowledge of mapping, students had the chance to work together to create maps of India, showing all the different regions.
All week, we have been learning about moccasins, Métis bead work and design, Louis Riel, the different Indigenous groups in Alberta and so much more! Today, we created our own moccasins and connected them to our identities. Thank you to Mrs. K for helping us today! @rvsed
We were so lucky to be included in the Indigenous Song and Story Teller class taught by Chantal Chagnon @Stormshadowsong .Students listened to some stories and were taught a traditional song on the drum. What a great day!
The Gr. 3’s had fun exploring different forms of text through a special edition newspaper. They learned about the different ways animals help the army and about the famous animals that helped soldiers during war. #RememberanceDay#literacy@rvsed
For Truth and Reconciliation Day, we came together as a school to share our “classroom story” through a circle ceremony with our grade cohorts. Students then added their “identity feathers” to their class story poster as a way to connect themselves. #orangeshirtday
In honour of Terry Fox, our class created these Terry Fox inspired art pieces with two goals for the year. One school goal and one health goal written on the sole of each shoe. #TerryFoxRun#terryfoxart

Team building activities help children learn to work together, problem solve, communicate effectively, build positive self-esteem, work cooperatively and so much more. We are having a blast getting to know one another.
