Honoured to be interviewed by the wonderful Anne Borden, where I shared my research and my plans for continuing neurodiversity-affirming care and education in Canada. Listen to the interview (and so many other fantastic episodes) here: https://t.co/YGDxB5UPMy
@KarenAnnTimm@YorkUniversity TY so much Karen - cannot wait to share the manuscript with the world and to continued disruption of our ableist education system in collaboration with autistic leaders such as yourself <3

Just received my pre-ordered copy, Olivia. Thank you for sharing your experience in this beautifully storyed interview. Sad, poignant, and beyond unjust. This is a story everyone supporting Black autistic young people must read. Grateful for you Olivia <3
“These results suggest that many autistic people who do not talk can learn how to spell. If they are given appropriate opportunities, they might be able to learn to communicate by typing.”

Tragic news for youth in crisis and/or young people in need of relational mental health-focused care in Ontario. The impact of this closure @FlemingCollege is beyond detrimental. Scary and sad.
@CYCareworkers I hope @FlemingCollege can have this program re-opened again. No other human service workers are trained like CYCPs to support the developmental needs of youth in crisis in Ontario. We need more CYC programs, not fewer! Youth are in crisis- they will suffer even more now :(
@AnnMemmott Exactly. My current rdissertation research looks at this as well. I'm always so appreciative of your insights and look forward to publications of your thesis work!
@AnnMemmott Thank you Ann, as always for these in-depth critiques! Indeed, if we are not asking the participants of the interventions, reliability cannot be claimed.
This is so cool, and SO needed! An app for #autistic people and their families, support workers, etc., to rate #SensoryFriendly places. I just downloaded it for Android :) Available on iPhone too
