An asset is the most important mindset to have as an educator. All students bring assets and uniqueness to the classroom. These qualities should always be celebrated. Today, I learned this is how Arab and Muslim students feel most comfortable in the classroom. #GCCEDUC

Being a good educator is not based on test scores. There has been a common thread in good educator habits. The common thread is being aware of all of the students. Today, I learned that culture plays a huge role in behavior and learning for Asian/Asian Indian students. #GCCEDUC

A good educator notices the differences among students. Noticing the differences allows the educator to truly know their students. Today, I learned that Native American students all have similar core values while maintaining different rituals and practices. #GCCEDUC

An educator's job is to be aware of students and their needs. Poverty is one of America's issues that directly affect education. I learned that 39% of African American students live in poverty. By keeping in contact with students, we can do something to help these kids. #GCCEDUC

A great educator must communicate with students. By doing so, one can create a safe/trusting environment. Today, I learned that one of the best ways to help Asian Indian Students is to communicate with the students in a way that acknowledges their cultural heritage. #GCCEDUC

As an educator, it is so important to learn and teach about diversity. Today, I learned about the Latino culture. Diversity is a topic that can produce change over time. Today, I learned that the term Latinx is used as a gender neutral reference to the Latino culture. #GCCEDUC

In a world facing a global pandemic, racism is still a prevalent US issue. The article addresses racism and increased amount of cases. An educator needs to be aware and educate how the impact of the current world may affect the students' lives. #GCCEDUC

As the world faces a switch to online learning, students are affected. As I am developing as an educator, this article provided me with beneficial information about helping ELL students succeed in the classroom (virtual or not). #GCCEDUC
