We had our Grade 7 feast today to witness and honour the hardwork and achievements of our wonderful group of Grade 7 students! ❤️ We had 14 Grade 7’s this year, I didn’t get a picture soon enough some had already taken off!
Here is a little glimpse of all the fun we had at our Outdoor Spring Carnival on April. 17th! Such a fun afternoon for staff and students! And an amazing leadership opportunity for our Grade 6/7 class!
Our Annual Snow Day! Students played soccer, lacrosse, tug-of-war, tag, and rock-paper-scissor races in the snow! ❄️ We had colouring and freeze dance in the gym! 🪩 A great day of fun & learning how to stay active in the winter! We had some treats to celebrate the day! 🌭
We spent a lot of time gathering student input so they can decide what stories we add to our library! Our first @IndigoLOR books arrived today and students are so excited to read their “wish list books!” We are excited that they are excited to read!! 🤩📚🥳 #IndigoLoveOfReading
Yesterday we had our School Christmas Concert! Everyone did so amazing and I’m so proud of all the students! So very grateful for all the hard work by both staff and students to make this event a success! 🎄🎶
So proud of our 4-7 volleyball team! They put in the work at lunch and after school practices! They’ve come so far this season! We wrapped up our season by playing the Majagaleehl Gali Aks 6/7 team on Thursday afternoon! Both teams had a blast showing off all they’ve learned! 🏐
Today our school honoured Orange Shirt Day. We are so grateful that Sim’oogit Ska’yan was present today to speak with our students about Truth and Reconciliation and share few words in Sim'algyax 🧡🪶
Today we had our Terry Fox Run! To help raise money, the classroom that raised the most money would get to Pie the Principal! We absolutely crushed and surpassed our school goal. After a very rainy and sweaty run, I got a few pies to the face! #terryfoxschoolrun#nomatterwhat
Last Friday, we had Kitwanga Elementary’s first Pride Parade! Students spent time learning about the history and importance of parades and then made signs and flags of their own! We then paraded through the school and out into the community to celebrate Pride month! 🏳️🌈🩷
Everyone was SO EXCITED to find out that we are a recipient of the 2024 @IndigoLOR Grant! $10,000 to put towards making our library more inclusive and culturally relevant for our learners! We will also be able to host community literacy events next year! #indigoloveofreading 🥳📚
Had a good trip back to SK! I got to celebrate with the incredible EYES team for the Actua Excellence Award we received for our work last summer! I was the EYES Workshop and InSTEM specialist! I also got news that I’m accepted into Extended Studies in Inclusive Education! 📚
I had a great evening yesterday, not only getting to see @MissNameth for the first time in months, but also celebrating @EYESYouth receiving the @ActuaCanada 2023 Award for Excellence! So grateful for the experience I have had and the skills and love for science it has brought me
Yesterday I finished up the “Explorations for Aspiring School Leaders” course put on by @BCPVPA! So many great takeaways from this course! It was also so great to build my professional learning community to include educators and administrators from all across the province!
