So pleased with my kids final piece of writing for our ‘defeating a monster’ unit! After studying Beowulf, focusing on specific vocab & Kennings, they created their own wonderful versions!
Yes we use magnets to stick our displays up on to metal sheets on the wall, resourceful!

It’s Recycling week at SEC! As well as learning about what we can recycle and how materials are recycled, we went on a beach clean today to clear all the Taka Taka (rubbish) off the beach in order to keep our wonderful beaches of Jambiani clean & pristine! ♻️🚮

Preparing for some super amazing new arrivals as our Term 1 comes to a close. Term 2 will see many new EAL students, as well as some students with their own super powers! Widgit is one of my favourite resources for creating visual aids for any child who may need it!

Pt1- Today my kids said something that shocked me, made me sad and made me happy all at the same time! They asked me why I didn’t shout at them when they got something wrong! I told them it’s because we learn from getting things wrong and.....

Pr3- I’m shocked that people still do this to their class and make them feel like this, I’m sad because they expected this from their teacher, I’m happy they have recognised now how I will always treat them& that we learn together.

Pt2- if they have got it wrong then it’s because I haven’t taught them correctly so we will try again and figure it out together! They responded with WOW, you’re so kind! Our last teacher always used to shout if we got it wrong!...

3 days until half term.....the most eagerly awaited half term yet. Missing my summer hols due to the different calendar year, along with moving countries; been an exhausting 3 months to say the least! Bring on a week of lying on those pristine white sandy beaches!

One of my @DIS_Dubai pals is holidaying in Zanzibar and kindly came to my new school, met my new kiddies and taught them a PE lesson! They loved their life and he loved seeing what international school life is like here! 🇹🇿
