Good leaders are sensitive to staff morale. They canโt solve every problemโฆ but they can always support their staff, and they can always care about them. In my experience, those two things go a long way.
A very successful high school coach in our area used to tell younger coaches: โDonโt worry about winning games; win the kids. If you win the kids, the games will take care of themselves!โ
I love this quote... and I think the wisdom of it transcends sports.
