Join me and my class as we travel through the endless adventures found in literature and math.

This is one of the most surprising and meaningful assignments I’ve ever given. Morale was running at an all-time low. I had my HS students write a certificate of achievement to themselves - For whatever they wanted. The results? #education#teachertwitter
Most students learn about Martin Luther King Jr. in school. But it’s rare that they learn these stories from Black storytellers. As we approach MLK Day on the 17th, here are 20 books about Dr. King by Black authors, compiled by @BCBooksAuthors.

Looking through Studio B104's videos for a Ruby Bridges read-aloud from this time last year and came across this reminder I gave to students about what it means to be patient. Something I know I needed to hear again, maybe you do too! https://t.co/mnLmOnoFdo
The area of my heart is still filled with joy from this impromptu exploration lesson! Gave Ss paper clips and simply asked them to measure their valentine. This led to an introduction to area and perimeter (above grade-level standards!!). Student-led learning FTW! @OceeElem
Today is not “business as usual.” We saw a domestic terrorist attacking on live television yesterday. We don’t have to solve all the problems of the world, but we do have to approach the day with love, understanding, and patience. Our kids- and our country- deserve empathy.
Thank you, @OCEEPrincipal for these reminders. I am excited to remind myself that good things DO take time as I travel to and from grad school classes (and everywhere in between). I am also excited to give @hashtagharkins the girl power reminder! She inspires me daily!💛⚡️
I can’t wait for @staceyabrams picture book someday. Go ahead and put me down for the preorder list for that- I want my students to know how possible it is to change the world, even when faced with defeat.
@OceeElem, tomorrow, October 30th, will be a non-instructional day for students. Be safe and enjoy the weekend. And I’m really excited to say “see you on Monday!” I am so excited to be returning! @oef_otter
Show & Tell is definitely not the same these days, but it is still cute as can be! Thank you @Flipgrid for giving us a way to share and respond! (Also, shout out to @MicrosoftEDU for integrating Flipgrid into Teams and making it an easy "one-stop-shop"!
100% distance learning does not equal 100% screen time. Let’s shift to ask “Also, what are we doing to get kids who are 100% learning at home...moving, making, speaking, and creating at home?”
Just earned my Building Global Citizens Badge on the Microsoft Educator Center! You can check out free PD courses too.

Thank you @hashtagharkins for introducing me to this amazing resource! So many great courses!

Checking in on my students looks different these days, but it is important just the same. I miss them dearly, but I am hopeful we will be sitting in a circle again soon. 💕
